Our story

Welcome to Rosso Fiorentino! A family-owned Tuscan villa, nestled in a peaceful hamlet in the heart of the Chianti region.

Owners Marco, who grew up locally, and Deborah, a London native, met back in 1988 and have been together ever since.

Together they undertook a large renovation of the property in the early 2000s, gradually bringing back Rosso Fiorentino to life.

The end result is a gorgeous, spacious and inviting home, perfect for guests who wish to bask in the Tuscan sun and indulge in what we Italians refer to as the “Dolce far niente”, or the sweetness of doing nothing.

This ethos is ingrained in everything we do here at Rosso, from the swimming pool and hot tub to the green houses, gazebo and (of course) our pizza oven. Everything at Rosso has been carefully curated to ensure our guests enjoy a relaxing stay.

This does not mean though that you will be short of things to do here! Not only is Rosso Fiorentino a stone’s throw away from several stunning mediaeval villages, like San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Volterra, but it is also a short drive from cultural hubs, Siena and Florence.

For the more active guests, Rosso is right next to the via Francigena, an ancient pilgrimage trail that connects Canterbury and Rome. If you choose to join the section of the trail that passes through Sant’Andrea you will be privy to some of the most incredible views of the seemingly endless hills, vineyards and mediaeval hilltop towns that form the surrounding region.
